It's good to know how music came to us. Thanks for sharing this one. My son used to bang his head in his crib. He had a certain gentle rhythm and kind of hummed with it. When we first heard it over the baby monitor, we had no idea what it was. This has developed into a clear gift for picking up a tune or melody. He can easily play music by ear. That gift has always amazed me.

Hi Neera,

The wonderful part of social media and worldwide reach is we learn so much about music, food, lifestyle, and more that we wouldn't have learned otherwise.

Thank you for encouraging us to share our posts.

I find playing by ear amazing since I’m doing well to play with the music in front of me Your son clearly had the gift early on also.

To be honest, I hadn’t heard this lullaby before. Your post gave me the chance to look it up on YouTube and listen to it—and it truly is remarkable. Knowing the story behind it makes it even more special. Thanks for sharing it with us, Flora.

Our daughters have many talents, one of which, gleaned at a young age, was to recognize out of tune music when they heard it. I can still remember as each child reached up from breastfeeding to cover my mouth as I hummed the Brahms lullaby. 🤭

Barbara, that's the first time I ever heard a child blocking Brahm's lullaby. But to do so because it was out of tune was definitely an indication of early musical ability.😊

Heh, 😏 as the mom, it was humbling, but I was willing to accept it as a sign of the remarkable human beings our daughters have turned into.
